Masks are Required

Masks are required in all indoor areas for MomoCon 2022 by MomoCon for all participants.

Detailed information is listed below, please Contact Us with any questions.

Mask Guidelines

Due to the nature of a large gathering causing more risk than every day activities, masks will be required for MomoCon 2022.

All participants over the age of 5 will be required to wear masks in indoor MomoCon 2022 spaces.

Do choose masks that:

  • Have two or more layers of washable, breathable fabric
  • Completely cover your nose and mouth
  • Fit snugly against the sides of your face and don’t have gaps
  • Have a nose wire to prevent air from leaking out of the top of the mask (if possible)

Masks that are NOT permitted:

  • Masks that contain valves/vents for exhalation
  • Masks that are made of mesh, tulle, etc.
  • Costume masks that have vents/hoods/do not meet the above standards. Please wear a secondary mask with any costume mask that does not meet mask guidelines (can be under costume masks).
  • Face shields alone are not permitted

Plan on bringing your own mask, but if not available, disposable masks can be obtained at Registration or Information desks. MomoCon branded masks will be available for sale at merchandise locations at the event.

Removal of masks while stationary and eating or drinking in designated areas (or off to the side while stationary) is permitted.

Additional Details and Protocols

  • Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the venue
  • MomoCon 2022 has nearly twice the amount of space as MomoCon 2019. This gives more opportunity for distance in the venue.
  • Keep in mind that different people have different comfort levels of human contact/distance. Be respectful of requests to back away or leave more distance between yourself and others.
  • Convention special guests have different comfort levels in interactions with fans, and may change during the weekend, so please be aware that autograph restrictions of contact/closeness may change.
  • Eating and drinking may be restricted to specific areas.

Policy Decisions

Why have you implemented this policy?

There are many people who attend MomoCon events (almost 40,000 in 2019 alone). Those encompass attendees, vendors, guests, partners, volunteers, and many more, and those groups (and individuals within them) have different needs and expectations when attending an event that is much larger and hosts significantly more people in close proximity than the average person deals with on a normal day.

While Covid-19 numbers are down at the moment, we have attempted to balance the needs of everyone involved in MomoCon by still requiring masks at the event (when not eating or drinking, in indoor spaces only). As listed in the policy, it is subject to change should the ever-changing landscape of the pandemic shift.

For those who wish for another option for the 2022 event, roll overs to 2023 are offered for a limited time as well, as a pandemic is not a normal situation in a standard year.

Feeling unwell before the event? Exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms? Stay at home. Contact us for options for partial refunds/credits, on a case-by-case basis.

Wash your hands frequently and take care of your personal hygiene throughout the event.
