Susan Egan was born in Long Beach, California, USA as Susan Farrell Egan. She is an actress, known for Hercules (1997), Spirited Away (2001) and 13 Going on 30 (2004). She has been married to Robert Hartmann since June 26, 2005. They have two children. She was one of the first students to attend the Orange County High School of the Arts during its original incarnation at Los Alamitos High School. Served as Artistic Director at the Orange County High School of the Arts for school year 2002-2003.

Susan originated the role of Belle in the Broadway production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Was nominated for Broadway’s 1994 Tony Award as Best Actress (Musical) for the role of Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.  Enrolled at UCLA as an anthropology major, but dropped out to do the national tour of Bye Bye, Birdie, with Tommy Tune.

Appearing in the title role in the Broadway musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. [February 2004] While performing in the revival of Bye, Bye Birdie with Tommy Tune he told her how much he loved the way she sang her first song and would often sing along with her as a vocal warm-up while he was in a costume change. The song was How Lovely To Be A Woman. Although Egan considered that to be the greatest compliment she had ever received she could not get the image of Tune in his dressing room singing that song in his underwear out of her head.
