costuming, sci-fi convention!
Conventions are very expensive to produce. MomoCon was incredibly lucky that until 2012 circumstances aligned so that we were able to offer the entire event free for everyone. Unfortunately, Georgia Tech no longer has available space large enough to accommodate the event and our growth has outpaced our income. We are working to add several additions to the convention, including an extra day, rave-style dance, a new 4-star hotel that contains the entire convention on 2 floors, industry guests and voice actors, and much more in the coming year. We also are working to set pricing for MomoCon as low as it can go, and will be giving away a huge number of free memberships through social media and contests in the months leading up to the con.
2) Can't you move back to the old venue?
While we still have a great relationship with Georgia Tech campus, our Student Center location would not be an option in 2012. Over half of the people who attended MomoCon 2012 would be turned away, and the building is not available in March 2012.
3) I chose the mailing option, when will my badges be mailed?
Badges are mailed out 2-3 weeks prior to the convention (approximately late-February). We DO NOT mail out badges as they are purchased (people tend to lose them more frequently if they are mailed out too early).
If you have a group of over 10 people, please send us an email and we will make accommodations for you.
5) What if I chose the mail option and I lost/never got my badges in the mail?
Come by Will Call and you will be able to pick up one replacement badge for each badge you purchased.
7) Where do I pick up T-shirts if I ordered them online?
At the Dealers Room at the MomoCon table.
8) Why don't my tickets have everyone's individual name on them in my group?
Don't worry, all of your group members are stored in our system together, so everyone's name that you input will be able to pick up a badge. If you did NOT input guest names in the system, your guests will NOT be able to pick up their tickets without you there. If you have blank tickets on your account, you will be given your badges at registratiion and it is your responsibility to get them to your party. They will not be able to pick up their tickets at registration.
9) I lost my bar code ticket email!
Bring the ID that your ticket name is under. If you pre-registered for a ticket, your information will be in our system, it will just take us a little longer to find it. There will be a second line for this.
10) Do I still need to show ID at registration if I pre-registered?
YES! HAVE YOUR ID WITH YOU. Even if you pre-registered, we need to make sure you are who you say you are. If you are under 16 or do not have an ID, have someone over 18 come with you to sign for you. This is REQUIRED even if you pre-registered for free tickets! We do not want to have to disappoint anyone by turning them away because they have no one to sign for them!
11) What if I'm an artist/dealer/guests/panelist/have a fan table?
Your ticket will be waiting for you when you are setting up or at Will Call. You will receive an email closer to con time with details on how to pick it up or if it will be brought to you.
12) What times are the registration desk open?
This information will be added to the site toward the end of the year. It is currently TBA
