MomoCon

Take a look at the picture above: this is a small core segment of the people who get together every year to bring MomoCon, the largest free fan convention in North America, to life. You may notice that our shirts say The Family, which is both a old convention theme and a way of life for us. This group (plus their 125 other "siblings") takes pride in bringing you entertainment and fun at MomoCon each year.

But, like most families, ours doesn't get together very often. Some of us have moved away, gotten married, started planning our lives, and only get to see each other at our reunion every March. We don't always get along and sometimes we fight. The kids pull each other's hair and the adults get passive-agressive. We don't always make it to every meeting or even every convention year.

In an effort to bring our family together more often and to bring events to our community (the "cousins"), we began to branch out from the main convention. Believe it or not, MomoCon has been putting on photoshoots and other community events since 2005! This year, we're taking on many more events than usual, and touring conventions all over the Southeast to promote and raise money, both for our events and for Susan G. Komen to help the fight against breast cancer, thus was born MomoCon on Tour.

Now, MomoCon is coming back, March 16-18, 2012. But until then, pull up a chair, listen to Uncle Rory tell stories about the con ("uphill both ways!"), and join Our Family for dances, gaming, photoshoots, art contests, screenings, and much more throughout the year.
